P. C. Chandra Garden organizes various events to promote art & crafts, dance, drama, music, folk arts & dances, cuisines, lifestyle, handicrafts, literature, cinema and different expositions that bring out the unique oneness in our country against the background of diversity in lifestyle and customs in the different regions.

P. C. Chandra Garden celebrates different holidays, festivals, etc. in the form of cultural functions to impart a flavour of national integration, as well as to promote talents from far and near.

2014-15

Event: FLOWER SHOW 2015

Date: 9th & 10th January 2015

Venue: The Maple

The 2 days Flower Show was inaugurated by renowned Actress Gargi Roy Chowdhuri. More than 100 children from various NGOs such as Ektara, Tiljala Primary School, Monovikas Kendra, United Basti Development, SHIRC (Speech & Hearing Institute Research Centre) etc. were present at the inauguration and for whom, Magic Show and Sit & Draw Competition were organized.

2015-16

Event: EK GUCHCHO SANTINIKETAN

Date: 15th April 2015

Venue: The Tulip

Poila Baishak 1422 (Bengali New Year) was celebrated in Santiniketan style, with Rabindrasangeet & Dance, Recitation, Esraj play, Santhali Dance by Artistes from Santiniketan and Baul Song by Gautam Das Baul. A replica of Sonajhuri's Haat was created by Artisans from Santiniketan. The Chief Guest was eminent Author Buddhadeb Guha.

Brikkhoropon (Tree Plantation Festival) was celebrated in Santiniketan style, with Rabindrasangeet & Dance, Recitation and Baul Song by Artistes from Santiniketan. A replica of Sonajhuri's Haat was created by Artisans from Santiniketan. The Chief Guest was eminent Author Sirshendu Mukhopadhyay.

Event: JOURNEY THROUGH IMAGES – A TRIBUTE TO BADHAN DAS

Date: 2nd, 3rd & 4th October 2015

The 3 days Art Exhibition was a tribute to eminent Artist Late Badhan Das, with display of his Painting and Sculptures, along with works of 12 other reputed Artistes, including Ganesh Haloi. The exhibition was inaugurated by eminent Artist and M.P. Jogen Chowdhury.

Basanto Utsab (Spring Festival) was celebrated in Santiniketan style, with Rabindrasangeet & Dance by more than 300 students of Daakghar, Janhabi and other Dance and Music Schools of Kolkata, with performance by eminent Artistes Manoj Murali Nair, Manisha Nair, Madhuboni Chattopadhyay, Srikanto Acharya, Bratati Bandopadhyay and Jayati Chakraborty. It was followed by Dance Drama 'Chandalika' of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore. The Chief Guest was eminent Singer Sumitra Sen.

A lifetime achievement award “Rabindra Ratna” was conferred upon veteran Vocalist Sumitra Sen, followed by musical performances by her daughters and eminent Singers Indrani Sen and Srabani Sen, along with their family troupe Tribeni.

An Audio-Drama version of the famous “Raktakarabi” Play of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore was performed along with Rabindrasangeet & Dance, by Bratati Parampara, a reputed Recitation Group, starring eminent Artistes Bratati Bandopadhyay, Debesh Roy Chowdhury, Srikanto Acharya, Manoj Murali Nair, Madhubani Chattopadhyay, etc. The Chief Guest was eminent Theatre Personality Bivash Chakraborty.

Event: ESHO BRIKKHER JOY GAAI

Date: 21st August 2016

Venue: The Maple

Brikkhoropon (Tree Plantation Festival) was celebrated in Santiniketan style, with Rabindrasangeet & Dance and Recitation by Artistes from Santiniketan. A replica of Sonajhuri's Haat was created by Artisans from Santiniketan. About 100 Children from Parivarikee, a school for slum children, were present and some of them performed a small Cultural Function. The Chief Guests were eminent Rabindra Scholar Dr. Somendranath Bandopadhyay and eminent Singer Dwijen Mukhopadhyay.

Date: 2nd October 2016

Venue: The Tulip

A lifetime achievement award “Lokoratna” was conferred upon Living Legend of Folk Music Amar Paul, followed by musical performance by Bengali Folk Music group Dohaar of eminent Singer Kalika Prasad Bhattacharjee. Young Folk Artiste Aditi Munshi accompanied them. Lastly, Kabigaan was performed by Ashim Kumar Sarkar and team.

Kabita Utsab 2017 (Poetry Festival) was celebrated by Abrittilok and Bratati Parampara, in association with Sahitya Akademi and Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, with Recitations performed by Joy Goswami, Buddhadeb Dasgupta, Subodh Sarkar, Srijato, Bratati Bandopadhyay, etc. Songs were performed by Srikanto Acharya, Lopamudra Mitra and Joy Sarkar. The Chief Guest was eminent Poet Sankha Ghosh.

Date: 11th March 2017

Venue: The Maple

Basanto Utsab (Spring Festival) was celebrated in Santiniketan style, with Rabindrasangeet & Dance by more than 600 participants from Daakghar, Janhabi and various other Dance and Music Schools across Kolkata and adjoining Districts, with performance by eminent Artistes Srabani Sen, Manomay Bhattacharya, Debaleena Kumar and Jhuma Basak. The entire show was orchestrated by Manoj Murali Nair and Madhuboni Chatterjee. Around 20 Stalls of Food, Garments and Handicrafts completed the carnival feeling. The Chief Guest was Sri U.K. Chandra, Managing Director, P.C. Chandra Jewellers.

2017-18

Event: ESHO POILA UTSABE

Date: 16th April 2017

Venue: The Tulip

Poila Boishakh 1424 (Bengali New Year) was celebrated by P.C. Chandra Garden through a cultural event, with musical performances by eminent singer Manomay Bhattacharya and by National Award 2017 winner Imon Chakraborty. Baul Songs were performed by Prashanta Das Baul. A lifestyle exhibition was also organized with around 15 Stalls of Food, Jewellery and Apparel. The Chief Guest was veteran singer Smt. Haimanti Sukla and Special Guest was Sri Prasanta Chandra, Jt. Managing Director, P.C. Chandra & Sons (India) Pvt. Ltd.

Event: NOTI KIRONSHASHI

On the third day of the Drama Festival titled Teen Din Teen Natok, the play “Noti Kironshashi” by reputed Theatre Group Anya Theatre was staged – directed by eminent theatre personality Bibhash Chakraborty.

A Folk Songs programme to show tribute to great folk maestro Kalika Prasad Bhattacharjee by the members of his folk music group Dohar and his disciples. Popular folk numbers of Bengal were presented by Dohar and by the participants of SaReGaMaPa 2016 & 2017, namely Rishi, Gangadhar-Tulika, Poushali and Pankaj. The Chief Guests were Sri Rajat Bose, Deputy Director General, Doordarshan Kendra, Kolkata and Sri U.K. Chandra, Managing Director, P.C. Chandra Jewellers Pvt. Ltd.

Event : KABITA UTSAB 2018

Date: 24th February & 25th February 2018

Venue: The Maple

Kabita Utsab 2018 (Poetry Festival) was celebrated for two days by Abrittilok and Bratati Parampara, in association with Sahitya Akademi and Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. On the first day, Recitations were performed by Bratati Parampara and by eminent Elocutionist Soumitra Mitra. An Audio-Drama version of the famous “Raktakarabi” Play of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore – starring eminent Artistes Bratati Bandopadhyay, Debesh Roy Chowdhury, Srikanto Acharya, Manoj Murali Nair, Madhubani Chattopadhyay, etc. and directed by Bratati Bandopadhyay was performed thereafter. On the second day, Recitations were performed by Soumitra Chatterjee, Sarat Kumar Mukhopadhyay, Subodh Sarkar, Srijato, Sohini Sengupta, Pranati Thakur, etc. Songs were performed by Jayati Chakraborty. The Chief Guests were eminent Actor Soumitra Chatterjee and eminent Author Sirshendu Mukhopadhyay.

Event: BASANTO UTSAB & BASANTO MELA 2018

Venue:Gold Acres

Basanto Utsab (Spring Festival) was organized by P.C. Chandra Group, in association with DaakGhar, for the third year running. The programme started with a Chhou Dance by artistes from Purulia and was followed by a Basanto Utsab procession, in true Santiniketan style. Rabindrasangeet & Dance were performed by more than 350 participants from different Music and Dance schools across Kolkata, as also by eminent Artistes Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta, Lopamudra Mitra and Anindya Chattopadhyay. It was followed by Dance Drama ‘Chitrangada’ of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore, performed by Souraja Tagore in Dance and by Manoj Murali Nair and Manisha Nair in Songs. The entire show was orchestrated by Manoj Murali Nair. A fair named Basanto Mela was also held with around 40 Stalls of Food, Garments and Handicrafts. The Chief Guest was eminent Film Director Sri Goutam Ghose.
