21st August 2016, The Maple: Brikkhoropon (Tree Plantation Festival) was celebrated in Santiniketan style, with Rabindrasangeet & Dance and Recitation by Artistes from Santiniketan. A replica of Sonajhuri’s Haat was created by Artisans from Santiniketan. About 100 Children from Parivarikee, a school for slum children, were present and some of them performed a small Cultural Function. The Chief Guests were eminent Rabindra Scholar Dr. Somendranath Bandopadhyay and eminent Singer Dwijen Mukhopadhyay.
